Like all major car manufacturers, German luxury car giant Mercedes Benz is keen on producing electric and green technology vehicles, and that is clear from its latest moves! The first-ever all-electric SUV from the company is here, and the price is $67,900. It will arrive on the US soil early in 2020, as per the updates. The EQC 400‘s price got unveiled at the 2019 LA Auto Show. Upon release, the car will lock horns with rivals like the Tesla Model X, Audi e-tron, and Jaguar I-Pace. The EQC 400 will be launched in three variants- advanced, progressive, premium. It is being manufactured at the company’s Bremen plant.
The luxury carmaker is keen on a lineup of electric and hybrid vehicles to cope with rising competition in this segment. Mercedes is planning to invest a whopping $12 billion to make such vehicles in the next few years. The Mercedes EQC 400 has a cutting edge drive system with twin electric drivetrains. This generates an output of 402 horsepower. The car can reach 60 mph from 0 in only 4.8 seconds. Mercedes has also configured the motors of the car to handle driving nuances in apt ways. The front electric motor, for example, is tweaked for efficiency in medium load, but the back motor is designed for offering a vigorous, sporty driving experience. The car’s 80-kilowatt-hour battery may cover 200 miles approx. The DC fast-charge technology used in the vehicle battery can reach an 80% charge in less than 1 hour.
The EQC 400 will not cut down on the entertainment aspect! It will be laden with the brand’s MBUX infotainment system. The cutting edge MBUX infotainment system supports the new voice assistant technology, and it also has a modern navigation tech. There are many driving modes. The MBUX infotainment system will also help locate nearby charging stations for the users. They can even resort to using Mercedes me App for the same need. The car will also have an advanced driver assistance system with features like active brake assist and adaptive high-beam assist.
