There have been so many rumors about the brand-new iteration of AirPods by Apple in the past week. It was thought that Apple may be launching these devices in an upcoming event. Contrary to all those expectations, the company sneakily announced its brand-new AirPods Pro through a press release. This new pair of truly wireless earphones, more expensive and advanced than the normal versions, comes with many features like active noise cancellation and Force Touch-based playback controls. It also differs from the design that Apple had followed for AirPods and AirPods 2.
Apple has changed many things inside and outside in this new version of AirPods. Most importantly, AirPods Pro is a premium device, priced at $249 and it has been designed for premier sound quality as well as better comfort altogether. As images have shown, the device comes with silicon tips that offer better comfort when they are inside our years. These tips can be changed according to the taste and comfort levels. Smaller than the traditional AirPods design, AirPods Pro is also noted for advanced sound drivers. Inside, we are able to see the same H1 chip that powered the traditional variants.
The devices are not yet waterproof but Apple says that AirPods Pro can now resist a noticeable amount of water and sweat, making them suitable for many out-of-the-box workout activities. There aren’t changes in terms of the charge capacity. The devices offer a playback time of 4.5 hours when noise cancellation is off, and there is a reserve charge of 24 hours in the wireless charging case. Apple has introduced something they call Transparency Mode, which allows users to understand what’s happening around them even when they listen to music. If you have an iOS device running iOS 13.2, you can use this device.
AirPods Pro would be available in the United States from October 30th.
